However, such <strong>decisions and approaches<\/strong> contribute to whether work has a positive, neutral, or negative effect on the space around it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What\u2019s more, it was important not to overlook the effect operations have on workers, either. Construction is labour-intensive job, that is recognised as physical and risky \u2013 with the UK suicide rate for construction workers over three times the national average. Therefore, it was important to ensure <strong>safe and fair working conditions<\/strong> were considered, too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Agilit\u00e9 is a fast-growing organisation which saw a significant increase in its employment rate over a relatively short period of time. As previously said, the company operates in a <strong>significant impact industry<\/strong> and is surrounded by clients with <strong>high expectations<\/strong> \u2013 all of which made it essential for Agilit\u00e9 to launch its <strong>transition towards sustainability<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After rapid growth, it was time for the firm to pause, take a step back and reflect on their current situation and where they wanted to go. <strong>Sustainability is the way<\/strong> and this is what A Beautiful Green\u2019s team helped Agilit\u00e9 to do \u2013 centralising information, creating a formal <strong>roadmap<\/strong>, and integrating <strong>sustainable practices<\/strong>, step-by-step.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Underpinning the challenge was the importance of making it simple to engrain <strong>sustainable behaviours<\/strong> into day-to-day operations. With the initial team formed, we were able to create discussion spaces to understand <strong>the possibilities and the challenges<\/strong> for Agilit\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having understood what was already in place, and where improvements might need to be made, it was important for us to be a <strong>support<\/strong> for Agilit\u00e9\u2019s team who carried this project in addition to their usual functions, so a <strong>phased approach<\/strong> was adopted. css_animation=&#8221;none&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>The results<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project has allowed Agilit\u00e9 to create and implement a robust <strong>CSR strategy<\/strong>, which includes a raft of documents such as a <strong>diversity and equity<\/strong> policy, an <strong>employee handbook<\/strong>, or a <strong>grievance mechanism<\/strong> policy, and processes such as the employee <strong>satisfaction survey<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This project enabled Agilit\u00e9 to introduce its employees to the <strong>concept of sustainability<\/strong>. As part of the collaboration between Agilit\u00e9 and A Beautiful Green, we were present at a team-building event in which we were able to do an introduction to sustainability and present the projects\u2019 results to the entire team.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As such, Agilit\u00e9 has established the <strong>foundations of sustainable behaviours<\/strong> within society.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As Agilit\u00e9 continues to flourish, it is important that its <strong>commitment<\/strong> <strong>to sustainability<\/strong> does so in tandem, and that it\u2019s built upon <strong>responsible administrative and strategic foundations<\/strong>. In turn, these allow Agilit\u00e9 to be agile enough to face the challenges of tomorrow and evolve in accordance with current <strong>principles<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The BIA is a tool that evolves with time. Sustainability is a topic in constant development and the BIA intends to accurately reflect this progression.
